Crossblades, Vroom and Thunderwing make up the Mega Pretenders, a series of highly sought after Transformers. The concept of the "Mega" pretender is that the outer shell can also transform, as opposed to being just a cocoon-like husk, like in the case of the regular pretenders. The outer shell and the inner robot can also combine to form a third vehicle which is unique to this line as well.

Crossblades and Thunderwing tend to be the most sought after of this line, and finding them MISB or even loose is quite challenging. As Transformers fans continue to fill in gaps in their collections, the Pretenders will become realized as one of the more sought after series.

This piece was obtained from a collector who bought one of every Transformer made in the 80's, and decided to part with the collection.
