Finding an unused US Menasor Giftset is almost impossible.
A MISB, forget about it. But a MISB Production Sample, is
as good as it gets. There is some wear to the upper left
hand corner, but aside from that this box is in fantastic
condition, especially considering its size. C9+ box, I haven't
seen a better condition box for a Menasor US Giftset period,
let alone that it's MISB. This was probably a near approved
production sample, as everything works except the styrophone
is a bit tight. Wildrider and Deadend look forcefully crammed
into their spaces, which isn't as obvious in the pic as
it is in person. A great piece of Transformers history!
Note: there may be more points of difference that I have
not discovered.
What makes this a production sample are as follows:
| |
1.
|
Box was handcut, not machine cut |
| |
2. |
Styro is
too small to fit the cars (see hoods of Dead End and
Wildrider) |
| |
3. |
Factory
sealed tape is different than the normal type used on
Transformers |
This piece was obtained from a private collector. It was
originally planned to be put in the Hasbro Museum, showcasing
every toy made in the Transformers line.
