Targetmaster Cyclonus is hard enough to find MISB, but to find a production sample like this is near impossible. It is actually very similar to the finished product, and was probably the approved sample since it is nearly identical to the finished product. It has some slight differences, but this was probably "OK'd" and then Hasbro began production on this piece. Unfortunately the box suffered moderate damage to the upper left corner. A true shame, as this piece has perfect gloss and crisp corners. Still a great piece of Transformers history

Note: there may be more points of difference that I have not discovered.

What makes this a production sample are as follows:

  1. Box was handcut, not machine cut
  2. Nightstick's window has strait and not rounded corners
  3. Factory sealed tape is different than the normal type used on TM Cyclonus

This piece was obtained from a private collector. It was originally planned to be put in the Hasbro Museum, showcasing every toy made in the Transformers line.

Note: Aside from the front box damage, the rest of the box is as nice as the pre-production TM Scourge...*sigh*
